Feature 1: “CREATIVE FORCES: NEA MILITARY HEALING ARTS NETWORK”

This article discusses the partnership between the National Endowment of the Arts and the Department of Defense and Veterans Affairs to create “Creative Forces” a program that “plac[es] creative arts therapies at the core of patient-centered care in military medical facilities.” Learn more about the mission statement, clinical therapy resources and research through this link as well.

Feature 2: “Whole Health For Life; Arts in Healing”

This article shares what was discussed in the symposium held by the Veterans Health Administration, Veterans Healthcare Network, Americans for the Arts, and other organizations on “expanding and fostering Arts in Healing” a program looking into expanding the art therapy options for veterans. Feature 3: “Arts, Health and Well-Being across the Military Continuum”

Americans for the Arts published this plan for action which is a compilation of a series of conferences from 2011-2013 discussing the integration of creative art programs within the military rehabilitation system. This proved to be a useful resource in understanding everything from the policies to the research behind the inclusion of art therapy programs with veteran programs.
